The cast and staff of Schoolhouse Rock Live!, currently playing
at The Body Politic Theatre, have two serious problems. First,
we're trying to raise some extra money to help subsidize our tour
to schools and youth groups throughout Chicagoland. Second, we've
found that our social lives are suffering from our four-nights-a-week
performance schedule. The only new people we see anymore are the
members of our audiences.
In an effort to solve both problems, we've created a special
kind of raffle. At each performance, audiences are given the opportunity
to win an embroidered tour jacket as well as a date with a staff
or cast member.
A one-dollar donation buys a chance to win.
"These are the songs we grew up with," explains producer Nina
Lynn. "The great part is that the show is so much more than a
nostalgia trip for Generation X. The material appeals to audiences
of all ages because it is so well written and very funny. "
